Rest

From Our heart to yours:

TO THOSE NEEDING REST

The Promises of God are given to point us to what He desires for our lives. He sees what every promise can be for us.

Jesus lived His life on earth demonstrating unbelievable Peace, facing every type obstacle and adverse circumstance. This Peace is the fruit of being at “rest” in your heart. The apostle Paul was thrown into prison, yet he sang songs to the Lord. Even though he was in jail, he had inner “rest” resulting in a peace that passed all human understanding.

The Promises of God are given for us to fully embrace, take hold of, set before our eyes, believe and enter into rest, trusting the One who made the promise.

We were created to trust our Creator. Our hearts were designed to live in peace, unaffected by the chaos that happens around us. Peace is a result of being at rest with God. Peace is the fruit that overrides worry and fears of the unknown. Rest and peace can go with you everywhere you go and enable you to face every circumstance. Jesus never worried about anything! He was never upset because someone said something bad about Him. He was never frustrated because of people’s broken promises. He lived in complete peace because He was in a place of rest with His Father.

This is our goal also. To keep every area of our lives in a place of rest, not participating in the frustrations of life, but learning to be a person ruled by peace. We are learning to fully trust our Fathers Promises that are the compass for our actions, thoughts and desires. The fruit will be abounding peace!

Our lives are not based on how strong we are but how strong the Lord is in our lives. Regardless of the strength of the obstacles or size of the problems that rise against us, the Lord has overcome every one and has enabled us to enter into His Rest. Jesus said, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble at heart and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light". Matt. 11:28-30

A yoke was used to train a new ox. The yoke enabled the trained ox to show the new ox how to pull, how to respond to the farmers words, when to pull and not pull. The yoke taught the oxen how to work together, how to work in harmony. Being yoked with Jesus is His desire to teach us how to walk as He walked. Jesus said, "Take My yoke and learn from me". He wants to teach us how to walk in harmony with Him in complete rest, having peace in and through every circumstance.

Rest is the result of complete trust. We were all created to live in this place in God.

Be yoked with Jesus and let Him teach you the way of living in Rest. Let peace be the beautiful fruit demonstrated through your life in every circumstance. Be overwhelmed with peace! This is our journey in being conformed to the image of Jesus, the Arthur and finisher of our faith. Enter into the “Resting Place” with Jesus, demonstrating Peace through every difficult season of life.
