Guard Our Thoughts

In Matthew 16, verse 23, Jesus turned to Peter and said, “Get out of My way, you Satan! You are an offense to me, because your thoughts are only filled with man’s viewpoints and not with the ways of God.” TPT translation

What are you allowing your mind to be filled with??

What are you thinking about throughout the day??

Are your thoughts bringing you peace or turmoil??

Are your thoughts resulting in joy or agitation??

Jesus told Peter that what was coming out of his mouth was the result of thinking on Satans’ viewpoints and not on the viewpoints of Gods ways. Peters action was the result of what was in his heart. What was coming out of Peters mouth was an offense to God.

This lesson from Jesus tells us that what we think matters.

We are to guard our thoughts We must understand that Satan operates his will through those who think his thoughts. What you allow yourself to think on will eventually come out of your mouth and be fulfilled.

Thoughts produce actions!

Jesus firmly rebuked Peter as a lesson for all of us. Words and thoughts that come from Satan's kingdom must not be given place in us as children of God. We are not to be an instrument of Satan to fulfill his agenda.

We are children of God,
His instruments,
to fulfill his Will.

Are our thoughts filled with man's viewpoints poisoned by Satan to steal, to kill and destroy or are our thoughts saturated in the ways of God, filled with peace that passes all understanding and love that is not easily offended?

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence,
if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Phil. 4:8 ESV

Don’t be a carrier of Satan's poison, spreading hatred, violence, anger destruction and every evil he desires to inflict upon mankind. Be an instrument of Righteousness we were created to be. Put a guard over your mind and give no place to Satan's word of destruction. Words have a destiny to fulfill. This is why we must value the words that come out of our mouth. Words are the evidence of what is in our hearts. Words are seeds that we plant into people every day, everywhere we go. We are His Representatives, our words can be a fountain of Life.

Our thoughts and words must come from the realm of Gods Kingdom and not the kingdom of this world.
