As Believers In Christ

August 6, 2020 | Darrell Hutto

As believers in Christ, we have a higher law. The law of love. Love is not weakness, it is strength. Jesus gave us a new way. All our battles are done in the spirit through prayer. It is never right to justify hatred, vengeance or retaliation.

Recognize the real enemy and his ways. Satan uses the worlds systems. Satan, our real enemy, wants us to fight in the flesh. Satan wants us to throw stones, take up arms, destroy each other, burn down buildings because he is the author of destruction. Satan is a deceiver, liar, destroyer and works through people to accomplish his purpose.

As Christians, Followers of Christ, we are told how to confront evil:

Jesus said, ”Your ancestors have also been taught ‘Love your neighbors and hate the one who hates you.’ 44) However, I say to you, love your enemy, bless the one who curses you, do something wonderful for the one who hates you, and respond to the very ones who persecute you by praying for them. 45) For that will reveal your identity as children of your heavenly Father. He is kind to all by bringing the sunrise to warm and rainfall to refresh whether a person does what is good or evil. 46)What reward do you deserve if you only love the loveable? (Matthew 5:43-46) TPT

For although we live in the natural realm, we don’t wage a military campaign employing human weapons, using manipulation to achieve our aims. Instead, our spiritual weapons are energized with divine power to effectively dismantle the defenses behind which people hide. We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5) TPT

Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you. 11) Put on God’s complete set of armor provided for us.... 12) our hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms...12) Because of this, you must wear all the armor that God provides so you’re protected as you confront the slanderer, for you are destined for all things and will rise victorious. (Ephesians 6:10-12) TPT

As we speak these scriptures over our lives, we cannot underestimate the power of prayer working through a heart of love. Jesus wants us to learn His way: to do our battles in prayer through the power of love.

Flesh cannot produce spiritual results. Jesus demonstrated how to use authority.
Jesus taught us through prayer how to bind up and loose (Matthew 16:19).
He gave us His Name.
These are the weapons of our warfare.

Learn what you have been given, exercise your authority, not by the flesh but in the spirit.

The realm of God’s Kingdom has all authority over the realm of Satan's kingdom. We are to align ourselves with God's Kingdom principles.

Ephesians 6:10 says we are to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Our strength is in the Lord. Our strength is in the power of His might.

Even though the Romans we’re persecuting and severely oppressing the Jewish community, Jesus never fought against the Roman Empire by leading a rebellion. Jesus never talked evil against those in authority.

Jesus taught us that true power takes place in the Spirit and brings change in the natural.

When we understand that people are instruments being used either by Jesus to bring life and restoration or by Satan to bring about destruction and death, we will begin to see and understand as Jesus did the power of prayer.

Yes, prayer can & will make a difference.

The big question is, who are we going to align our hearts with??

The futile efforts of the flesh OR the effective power & prayer in the Spirit.
